Governance

To ensure that Canada’s Telecommunications Hall of Fame is at all times operated in accordance with the highest principles and standards of fairness, transparency, impartiality and independence, we have created stringent governance structures and arrangements:

Canada’s Telecommunications Hall of Fame is a Not-For-Profit corporation, with a CRA registered charitable number, a Board of Directors and staff member(s), and several operational Committees comprised of well-respected and independent members with considerable telecom experience and expertise.

• Fundraising for Canada’s Telecommunications Hall of Fame (CTHOF) is the role of the CTHOF Foundation, a second Not-For-Profit corporation with a CRA registered charitable number and a blue-ribbon Board of Governors comprised of senior telecom industry executives and leaders of Canada’s telecommunications industry.

• The Hall of Fame Laureate Nomination process is open to the public through our web-site at www.telecomhall.ca and nominations can be made throughout the year either on-line or by downloading our Nomination form and faxing or mailing a completed form to Canada’s Telecommunications Hall of Fame. Laureate Nominations for the Class of 2012 will be accepted until March 31, 2012. Nominations received after that date are eligible for consideration to the Laureate Class of 2013.

• Leading candidates for Laureate selection will be carefully reviewed by the Hall of Fame Laureate Selections Panel, chaired by 2005 Laureate, David Colville and comprised of independent industry experts. The Laureate Selections Panel will select the Class of Laureates for induction at the Telecom Laureate Awards.

• The Hall of Fame Laureate Selections Panel will perform its duties relying upon written, merit-based criteria for Laureate selection and induction into Canada’s Telecommunications Hall of Fame.

• The CTHOF Foundation Board of Governors, in keeping with the Foundation’s role as the fundraising arm of Canada’s Telecommunications Hall of Fame, do not participate in the deliberations of the  Hall of Fame Laureate Selections Panel and are not involved in the Laureate selection process.

Sponsorships and tax-deductible charitable donations from individuals, corporations, agencies and foundations help fund the development and maintenance of Canada's Telecommunications Hall of Fame. More information on sponsorship and donation opportunities is available on this website or can be obtained by contacting Mr. Lorne Abugov at 613-878-1532 or info@telecomhall.ca.
